Mass Pike (I-90) Rest Stops

The Mass Pike uses all-electronic tolling: E-ZPass or pay by plate. You can’t leave the turnpike at a service plaza, and stopping doesn’t change your toll.

Because service plazas sit inside the toll system, they’re the only places on the Pike to buy fuel without leaving the road. Between the larger plazas, the stretches can be long in the hills of western Massachusetts – check the distance to the next stop in the list above before your tank runs low.

Several Mass Pike service plazas come in pairs – one eastbound, one westbound – at the same place, such as Charlton, Ludlow, Blandford and Lee. They share a name, but you can only reach the one on your side of the highway. Others serve one direction only. The “Side” column in our list shows which is which, as far as it’s mapped.

If you’re heading into Boston, plan your last break before traffic gets heavier east of Worcester. Heading west into the Berkshires, the plazas at Blandford and Lee are the last ones before the New York line.
