RestStop Map is free and is funded by advertising (Google AdSense, only with your consent). Ads are labelled “Advertisement” and kept clearly separate from editorial content; ads never influence our content or the order of listings. Details in our privacy policy and editorial policy.

EU dispute resolution and consumer arbitration

The European Commission's online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025.

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG, German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act).

Liability for content

As a service provider, we are responsible for our own content on these pages under general law (§ 7(1) DDG). However, we are not obliged to monitor third-party information that is transmitted or stored, or to search for circumstances that indicate illegal activity. Obligations to remove or block the use of information under general law remain unaffected. Liability in this respect is only possible from the moment we become aware of a specific infringement. As soon as we learn of such infringements, we will remove the content concerned without delay.

Data accuracy and road safety

Information on rest areas, truck stops, weigh stations, opening hours, amenities, brands on site, mileposts and parking rules comes from open data (OpenStreetMap) and official sources. It is compiled with care but without any guarantee of accuracy, completeness or currency. Facilities may be closed, rebuilt or equipped differently than shown. Posted signs, instructions from the authorities and traffic laws always take precedence. Please don't use the site while driving. See also our terms of use.

Liability for links

Our website contains links to external third-party websites (for example OpenStreetMap, transportation departments, toll-road operators and navigation services) whose content we have no influence over. We therefore cannot accept any liability for this external content; the respective provider or operator of the linked pages is always responsible for it. The linked pages were checked for possible legal violations at the time the link was set, and no illegal content was apparent. Permanent monitoring of linked pages is not reasonable without concrete indications of an infringement. If we become aware of any infringements, we will remove such links without delay.

Basemap: vector tiles in the Protomaps schema, based on OpenStreetMap, delivered from our own domain.
Official toll-road mileposts: New Jersey Turnpike Authority, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, New York State Thruway Authority and MassDOT – credited on each toll-road page.
State outlines: US Census Bureau (public domain).
Overnight parking rules: the respective state's official sources, linked in each entry.
