2. Our service
RestStop Map provides free information about rest areas, truck stops, weigh stations, RV dump stations and related places in the United States, plus guides on related rules. No account is required. We may change, extend or discontinue the service at any time.
3. No guarantee – follow posted signs
We compile our information carefully from open data and official sources, but we can’t guarantee that it is complete, correct or current. Rest areas close, hours and rules change. Posted signs, traffic rules and instructions from officials always take precedence over information on this site. Our guides are general information, not legal advice.
4. Safe use
Don’t use your phone while driving. Let a passenger use the site, or plan your stops before you leave and while parked. Never stop on a highway shoulder to check a map.
5. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential obligations, limited to typical, foreseeable damage. Since the service is free, our liability is otherwise excluded to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

We link to official sources and other websites. We have no control over their content and are not responsible for it. If we learn that a linked page contains unlawful content, we will remove the link.
7. Data and content license
Location data on this site is derived from OpenStreetMap and available under the Open Database License – see data sources. Texts, design and code are protected by copyright; you may quote short excerpts with a link to the source page. Automated mass downloading of pages is not permitted.
8. Reports and messages
When you send a report or message, please don’t include unlawful content or personal data of others. We may use the factual content of reports to correct our data and OpenStreetMap.
9. Applicable law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live remain unaffected.
